Being part of a Arapahoe Credit Union is worlds away from being at a bank. As a not-for-profit, we provide the same services, same conveniences and same products, but at a far lower cost. We have everything from mobile banking to bill pay and our loans are some of the best in the nation. By cooperating with other credit unions, we also make sure you have access to thousands of branch locations across the country and another 30,000 free CO-OP ATMs. Perhaps more importantly though, our staff is made up of industry experts dedicated to your success. — At Arapahoe Credit Union, you aren’t a customer, you are a member and an owner and every single one of us is here to support you in any way we can.

More specifically, ACU prides ourselves on two dominant qualities: service and security.

It is our ability to treat members as individuals that makes us a warm and inviting place to do business. We are more than willing to sit down and make sure you are completely taken care of— no matter how long it takes or how complicated it gets.

Our focus on security helps to cover your entire financial profile. Our Protection Center helps protect all of your accounts with us while ACU Identity Safe guarantees an identity theft life vest for absolutely every part of your financial profile— including loans and accounts at other institutions.

New Membership

Opening a new membership with us means taking ownership. You will begin to revieve benefits almost immediately.

Open Account

Simply print and complete the Membership Application. You may also take this chance to open additional services – if you want to leave your options open, simply write in "standard" for the account type and we will try to qualify you for everything. You can then choose which options work best for you.

Return the completed application, along with a copy of your valid driver’s license, a second form of identification (almost anything with your name on it will work), and an initial deposit of $5 (do not send cash) to open your account. This $5 deposit will represent your ownership stake in the ACU. You can drop that off to one of our locations or mail it to:

3999 E. Arapahoe Rd.
Centennial, CO 80122

In some cases, we can work with you to get this done by fax. Scans often work as well. Please contact us if you think this will be easier for you.

Loan Application

Arapahoe Credit Union is a full service lender and can help with just about any kind of loan product (including low-cost insurance). We would also encourage you to use our staff to answer any questions that you might have. It often happens that we can save you money simply by using an alternate loan or leveraging our current promotions. For example, we might be able to get you a low-rate vehicle loan for other reasons if you own your car or some kind of collateral.

Applying is simple. You can always Apply Online and we will follow up as soon as we have your application processed.

You can also call us at 303-740-7063. One of our phone representatives will gladly take care of your request. Again, this is a great way to have us answer any questions you might have.

Of course, we have two full service branch locations if you prefer to come sit down with one of us.

Add/ Remove Joint

We are more than happy to help you change the signers on your account and make sure that everything works as you need it to. However, adding or removing an actual owner of your account can be a bit trickier than other account changes. We take member protection incredibly seriously so there are a few things you should be aware of.

Adding A Signer
Adding an account owner is a big decision. A joint owner will have full rights and ownership of any member number that they are on. The only exception is for some loans and loan products. If you are good with this, then you just need to use this form to submit a joint application. Both people will need to submit two IDs (one of which should be a state-issued picture ID)— Please make sure you sign the application. If the added joint owner is brand new to the credit union, we will go through a similar process to opening a new account and work to get them added as quickly as possible.

Removing A Signer
Removing a signer is a bit different. Because a person is waiving their rights to an account, we have to take extra precautions with their signature. As such, you can start with this form. We will also require two IDs from each person. The big difference is that the person being removed must either have their signature notarized or bring the form directly to us so that we can verify the signing.

Adding and removing joint owners can run into unique situations. For example, we cannot remove a joint owner when an account is in the negative and a new joint owner might be subject to account qualifications. For the most part, this won’t affect your process at all, but please let us know if you have questions or concerns.

Add Beneficiary

Arapahoe Credit Union Adding a beneficiary is a fantastically simple way to make sure your account is taken care of if something should ever happen to you. Without one, an account could get locked up in a legal process waiting for the courts to decide ownership.

If you are concerned about this, we recommend that you add beneficiaries to your account so that we know how you want your account handled if something does happen. The process is simple. Please just use this form to designate who you want added and then return it signed along with a copy of two IDs. You do not need to provide your beneficiary’s ID, but the process will be much cleaner if you can provide their social security number, address, full names and telephone numbers.

Again, if you have any questions, please let us know. Otherwise, please feel free to return these documents to us at your convenience.

Official Name Change

Changing your name is more of a legal process than anything. Though, once you have this taken care of, it is fairly simple to get your information updated with us. In doing so, we will be able to both protect your account and serve you better.

To change your name, start with this form. You will want to make sure to include all information, sign it, and then return it along with two copies of your ID (one should be your updated driver’s license). You also want to include the legal document showing your name change. For example, you can provide a marriage license, a divorce decree, or anything else that shows the courts recognizing this change.

Once we have this information, we will get your profile updated. If you have any questions, our Communications Center is here for you.
